MiM is a practice-led approach emerging from the museum field.
Young adults asked for mindfulness in the museum.
That became the first pilot. Today, the program reaches a broad and diverse audience
— from museum visitors to doctors, medical students and caregivers.
“Mindfulness in Museums ® is about the reciprocity between people and artworks—at the level of being. It moves from art egagement to art experience. It is a collective, individual experience. Different from approaches such as VTS, ABL, and Slow Looking, another person’s experience does not colour mine, nor does it determine my process.
And yet, at the same time, you feel: I am not alone”.
Mindfulness in Museums turns museum collections into a source for mental health, resilience, and human flourishing in our communities. Through mindfulness meditation, we create space for slowing down, attention, and calm.
Together with you, we develop a mindfulness-based program guided by certified Mindfulness in Museums trainers. We also train museum teams in mindfulness-informed art engagement, enabling the qualities of mindfulness to be applied in guided tours and public programs.
Do you work with art and mental health? We offer training, mentoring and supervision for professionals who want to work in the field of Art & Health, Culture & Health and Culture & Care. Our work is grounded in practice, research and international experience.

In collaboration with researchers and museum teams, we build evidence around what works. MiM shows how art and awareness together can set something in motion. Research demonstrates the impact of MiM on mental wellbeing.
